Calling all volunteers
The Kentucky Lacrosse Association is looking for people who love the game of Lacrosse and want to assist in its growth throughout the state of Kentucky.
The KLA, while servicing the entire KY Lacrosse Community, is focused on the development of boys’ and girls’ youth lacrosse, not only in the developed areas of the state but also in the emerging areas that have had little exposure to our great sport. While continuing to provide such services as coaches’ clinics, educational opportunities to the Lacrosse Community, support of our girls and boys officials association, our work to expand the exposure to our sport will be a high priority in the next few years.
If this work is of high interest to you and you have a deep desire to assist in the growth of the game, we would love to have you consider serving on the KLA Board.
Below are some of the details of the workings of the Board and a link to the Interest Form:
Board meetings- once a month. We alternate between in person and teleconference. In addition to monthly meetings, we have a one-day planning retreat in the summer.
Board obligations- each Board member is assigned a specific role, according to the skills that you bring to the Board. Board members elect officers for President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Financial obligations- none, other than to be a current member of US Lacrosse
Term- Board members are elected for a 3-year term running from October- September. Elections will be held at the Annual Meeting in October.
Committees- We also need volunteers to serve on the following committees: Finance (budget, grants, fundraising), Program Development, Communications/Marketing (website & social media), Education & Training, and Operations (leagues, officials, regional associations, tournaments).
If you, or someone you know, are interested in serving or have any questions, please feel free to contact us at www.kylax.org, or me personally at email@example.com. Thank you for your consideration in helping the growth of lacrosse in Kentucky!
